Adventure Racing Northern Illinois

Coming this summer - August 6 2022 Crush the Rock Adventure Race

Adventure Race Northern Illinois is hosting a 10 or 12 hour (TBD) and 4-hour race in Northern Illinois. Our 10 or 12-hour race will include paddling / mountain biking / orienteering / "creekteering" / trail running. Racers will have 10-hours to get as many checkpoints as they can in that time. The team with the most checkpoints in the shortest amount of time wins. Racers will find themselves riding single track and orienteering in many parks throughout Northern Illinois. We will have multiple transitions during the race to keep you moving from one discipline to the next with numerous land navigation sections. The big question is how adventurous and badass are you? If you think you have what it takes to tackle ten hours of non-stop racing don't miss this opportunity to test your limits and compete against other racers and the course.

Our 4-hour race will feature paddling/biking/orienteering/trail running. This race will be designed for the beginner adventure racer but will include multiple transitions and disciplines. This is a great race for the adventurer looking to find out what adventure racing is all about. Families and children are encouraged to race together. Don't second guess yourself, sign up and give it a try.

By racing in Crush the Rock, teams are automatically part of the Wisconsin Adventure Racing Series. Visit

for more information. In addition to being a part of the WARS series, this race is also a qualifier for the  USARA  series. Please check out what the United States Adventure Racing Association is about
