Northern Illinois Adventure Racing's Annual Winter Orienteering Event

YAK-Off 3

Adventure Race Northern Illinois

Yak-Off 3

Good luck to all of the racers coming out on 2/17 to race in the Yak-Off 3! Course is ready, trails are in great shape and we are ready to get it rolling. See everyone out there.

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our annual Winter Orienteering Race this winter. Construction is complete at Rock Cut State Park and we are ready to host another race. We will be hosting a 3 hour and a 6 hour orienteering race in February. Once again, Rocktown Adventures is going to help us out and allow us the use of their indoor facility for our race headquarters. We have  great courses planned for both races and can't wait to host another event. As in our past races, we will send maps out during the week of the race so teams and racers can start to plan and strategize. 3-HR racers will receive all of their maps, and 6-HR racers will receive all of their maps aside from the mystery map. This map will be located at a marked CP out on the course. Our 3-HR race will be geared more towards the beginner racer while the 6 HR racers will have some more difficult sections of navigation. We welcome all ages of racers, but do ask that any racers under 12 years old have at least one adult for safety reasons. Please reach out to us if you have any questions at rockfordbigdogs11u@yahoo.com

Cost will cover maps for every racer on each team, insurance, permits, team passports, race coordination, and our official race patch that we provide at each race. Race HQ will be insideat the Lone Rock Cafe inside of Rock Cut State Park. Please check out Rocktown Adventures awesome outdoor store - https://rocktownadventures.com/
